Ground Loop Isolators

I have never had a ground loop problem using either of my 2 laptops, both using external sound cards.

Is this more of a luck thing though. Could specific venues cause problems, so should I be carrying ground loop isolators as a matter of course, as 7pm on a Saturday night isn't normally a good time to source them.

I have 6 cables coming from my sound card (3 stereo pairs). Will I need 3 or 6 Ground loop isolators to protect the whole system?

The venue shouldn't matter. If the plug sockets to your laptops are 2 pin (unearthed) then there will be no electrical interference. Probably what you have already.
I run on battery cause I dislike ground loops isolators.

I always run on power to avoid any issues with USB connected devices (soundcard and controller) but haven't had any buzzing issues since I binned off my old laptop about 3 years ago (a dodgy 7 years old Toshiba thing)

i use just the one ground loop isolater that runs from my omni to the mixer never had any probs with hum picked it up on ebay for around £10.00

The Toshiba's I used to use didn't have any problems, either.

But I am thinking that it's possible your soundcard already eliminates any interference for you already. On my current laptop, I only noticed a problem when my soundcard decided it was taking early retirement!!

I was getting ground loop noise through my EKS OTUS and into my DJM500 so I've had to fit two, one for each channel. I also thought the soundcard would eliminate interference but alas it was not to be.
Funny thing is, if I connect the GLI direct to the EKS I get an even worse noise, yet switch it to the end of the RCA's (just before the mixer) and it does its job properly.
