Recommend me a decent replacement driver

For an LD dave V1 12 inch sub unit:

Got a quote for about £50 to re-cone but it £20 plus VAT to shop it there and back. looking at a high SPL driver to match the fittings for the same price. :)

The one that has come out of it has a max SPL of 120 or something.

Its proper loud for the size so i need it to match that.
I replaced the one in my 10 inch and it has not been the same since.

I also have a 15 inch so not urgent.

All my searches keep coming up with stupid car audio crap or QTX drivers.
I might just gaffa tape it again and see how I get on. it last a year last time. :D

Well, if the gaffa tape worked ok for a year, do it again and in the meantime you can hopefully find a replacement.

To get the most out of the cabinet, you need to replace it with a driver with similar or improved T/S specifications.

Does the current driver have a manufacturer / model number on or is it blank?

If you're just looking for a quick swap, something like the Eminence Kappa 12 would probably suffice, just make sure that it's an 8 ohm driver that is currently in the cabinet.
