Only one? Won't that look a little strange?
Watching closely to see how you get on with this. I need a mirror ball solution and am wondering whether to go traditional or modern.

Ugly with the lights on though isn't it!

It seems that all of the lighting effects I have liked recently are all ugly as hell until they're switched on!
Curious as to where you're proposing to locate a single podium on your set up, Daryll. As Darren says, won't it look a little unbalanced?

That's what I like about traditional mirror balls - apart from being iconic they're also the only lighting effect that looks pretty in daylight.

Just the one to start with , I haven't got any bigger gigs until mid June , and if this one goes well , I shall order another.
Nice centrepiece effect
Never thought about this as a centre piece , the idea was to have this on a 2m quad truss totem out in the wings , with just a power and dmx lead

There are loads of possibility`s here , I could have this as a centrepiece on a totem , and have myself off to one side , I intend to ditch the overhead and trim down the ultimax uprights to have a flush consul with a couple of lights on the winch stand , or..........
keep the uprights and mount the XP5`s on the top , or use a pair of small T bars and add the ADJ comscan to each side.
I will be taking the light up the club tonight, with a bit of smoke to see the covering ability of the unit , as most of my gigs are on the small side , I may find that one is more than enough , I love the look of Darren`s with the uplight in the totem , I will give a report of the coverage later on.

If the podium was in the middle with a podium either side of it.

well , just got back from the club.
The hall is approx 30 X 8 meters , with smoke/haze , the one unit gives a good spread all over , with out smoke/haze...........a bit weak IMO.
So looks like I will be buying another one soon.
Responds to sound well
DMX gives greater control.
Very light ( approx 5kg)
