I've been looking into this all afternoon and opinions seem to differ...I want to use a Three micro sim instead of o2 and want to find out if the Ipad is locked to o2.

The o2 advisor said it isn't and I should be able to just insert the new sim and away I go...

I bought the Ipad from PC World, so I don't believe it is locked to anything. I just phoned Apple support but there was a queue, so I thought I'd ask here instead if anyone has done it?

It's an Ipad 1st generation, 3G version.

if you brought it without entering into a contract then you will be free to use any supplier.

they are only locked if you get it at a discounted rate bundled with a contract from your phone company.

Ta - that's what I read, but just wanted it confirmed by someone who had changed sims.
