A drunken guest at the end of the night asking for something different, as I'd played 'the same :Censored::Censored::Censored::Censored:e all night', when in fact, I'd played 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, rock, reggae, cheese, the most varied night in ages.

Turned out he wanted a waltz to end with, so Moon River to the rescue.

Had a quiz night/disco last night for a ladies 50th, I was asked by her to keep music as background in between the quiz, it was mainly old guests and they weren't to keen on disco's, there was also a few youngsters.

The quiz was great (thanks for your help with questions Steve) and there were alot of laughs. However the ladies young son kept coming over to me and telling me he was bored of the quiz and he wanted some Hip Hop, he was obiously drunk and being a right pain in the arse. At the end of the night he came over again and said I paid you £180 (it was his mother that paid)and I want you to play Hip Hop.

Why are some youngsters so selfish, his mother and the other guests were having a great time with the quiz, chatting and eating. You would have thought he would have just wanted his mother and her guests to be happy.

Guests who request rubbish songs you know won't work, you try and explain to them that and the fact you have already played several of their earlier requests.

Even worse when they go and march the groom over to you when he is a little worse for wear and demand the groom to tell me to play it.

Even worse than that is when its near the end of the night, you have a full dancefloor and you just know the songs coming up is going to finish the night off nicely but playing "Three Little Words" kills that and you have to work like a badger on the mic to try and get them back on for the grand finale.

Yep, happened on Saturday. Some people are just so self centred.

Indeed it does Steve, but with the constant influx of new members, it may be helpful to consider the forum to have a lot in common with a goldfish, in that everything appears new to it in a remarkably short space of time. ;)

It would be a very difficult task indeed to post something entirely new, that had never been discussed on here, so I'm afraid that members such as yourself may regularly experience strong feelings of déja vu.

I can see no acceptable way of squaring the circle, unfortunately.:(

I'm all for new threads being posted even if they have been done a dozen times before. New people come and go, as do opinions. For me the constant posting of new topics (even if they've been covered to death before) at least stops the forum from becoming stagnant. Where I would draw the line is several current and active threads all on the same topic. In that case there would be a valid reason to just have the one (mainly as I'm old now and find it increasingly difficult to keep track) :d

Or put a bit more bluntly, re-read the posts complaining about reading the same thing over and over & then have a look for the little silvery grey badge at the bottom of the signature.

Why is it every time the "don't read it card" is played, it's always dealt towards a member of site staff?
