Anyone know how to insert a gif into a Powerpoint presentation?

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you trying to insert an animated .gif into Powerpoint?

Have you managed to get the file into photoshop? If so have you ran it as a slideshow and it still doesn't animate?

Or is the problem getting it there in the first place?

If the animation is working (try opening it up in Internet Explorer - this will show you if it's working or not) then the MS Knowledge Base should always be your first port of call, really:
