Looking at buying a new van

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new van. My current van is a VW T4 1.9 and it goes well but It's got a lot of extras which I no longer appreciate / use -

Bucket Seats, Metal Flake Paint Job, Premium sound system, insulated for camping, mains sockets to connect to campsites, lowered etc etc, I just want a van without all the gimmics which I can use now.

I like the look of the Renault Traffic vans but then they look the same as the Nissan Primastar ... which also look the same as the new ford transit vans...

Are they any different and has anyone got any wise words on this matter?

Renault Traffic ,Vauxhall vivaro , Nissan Primastar , all the same van with a different badge , in my day job I use a Renault traffic , great van , loads of space and nippy to , so it depends on what badge you like.....:D

Good answer! Don't suppose you know much about what mileage is good for them ... my VW has done 172'000 and going strong just needs the odd new part each year but I know they go well into the 200'000+ before they bite the dust.

Oddly enough I think I can sell my VW and buy a traffic with about 80'000 miles for the same price which makes me wonder ...

I have a Renault Traffic, its GREAT. Love it and would 100% get another one at some stage. And they look the nuts!!!!

I have a Primastar and think it's a great van. Comfortable, fast, fairly economical.

I'm not sure it looks like a Transit though?

Edit - just seen one and yes, they are similar!

Cheers for feedback on the vans how many miles has your vans done?

obviously a van that's done 50k might be great but once it's at 150k you might be saying it's a pile of ...

I bought it when it had just over 100K on it and it still goes well.

Mine's getting to be that way, but it does indeed have 250,000 on the clock! :eek: Don't follow the herd, get an LDV Convoy, the Man's van. :D :D

"The man's van" love it! The trouble with that is you don't follow the herd and neither do the spare parts! had that problem before!

You already know since you have had a vw there is no better van, anything else and you will come down with a big bump.

Sorry I cannot advise on mileage , my firm exchange after 80,000 , but I believe they are good for 200,000.
