Hi everyone just wondering if you take pics of all your gig's and how do you get them most people dont want there pics taken incase they do or flash something they dont want to lol. I have started to notice lots of discos putting pics up of every gig on there web site and just wonderd how to get pics of people because no one seems to want them done lol.

1) Don't use flash
2) take video and then take stills (this gets a much better effect in myopinion)
3) Just be descrete..

But same as above and same principles.

Hi Ross

Bring a digital :camera: along to each gig and when you get a good lively crowd start 'discretely' snapping them or get a friend to do it for you.

Best gig for this is for people you know as some people could be fussy about getting snapped and appearing on the web. Edit the best ones on your :computer: and post them up. :)

With some of these photo editing packages you can blur out the crowd so faces are not seen and add other effects.

The other thing you can do if you are worried about offending people is put a clause in your contract saying that you may be taking photos unless they tell you otherwise

Are you asking why do you want to take pictures of people dancing and not of your rig?

Well, generally that's because most potential clients will be far more interested in whether you can get people off there feet enjoying a dance that whether you have lovely dmx lights!

Yep, used to annoy me that i couldn't get decent shots of the lights.. or beams hitting people etc. But decided it doesn't really matter.. people are more interested in seeing people dancing and looking happy. Although, nice shots of a tidy rig are good also!

No i wasnt asking that.
I was asking why there was a problem.
You really should not have a problem if you just blend in.. and people cant really complain if you do take a photo.. as vfor example at weddings there are cameras all over the place.. just dont be too in your face.
