A Year On

A Year on from my first disco hopefully a little wiser due to the help i have had from here.
Thought would be fitting to show two pics if i can get them to upload of then and now subtle differences but i think you can see the improvement.
in the second picture the bags behind the speakers were removed before start, and yes i was blocking off a fire exit but there were 4 large double patio doors open and another two fire exits from the function room. speaker on the right was also moved once some tables to the right of it had been moved.

The top was a year ago and the bottom one was this Saturday before I started
major differences using a different star cloth,(although not happy with that one either) lights are more uniform and cables a lot tidier, can set up in around 45 mins now as opposed to taking an hour plus , and I haven't tripped any main fuses recently although did have a few minutes panic when VDJ wouldn't recognise the omni. positioning wasn't great as we had to set up earlier in the day but worked round it.

Tidy! I'm sure there are people here who can help you get better shots from your camera.

She did try to aim it at non-DSLR cameras, but yell if you need a hand and I'm sure she'll try to help.

Most definitely i try and work on a mini set principle of 3 or 4 tracks that will go well together and its great when some one comes up to request something that you already have cued up as next track. Improvement as well in the type of gig first gig was a friends 40th birthday party at a football club last gig was a wedding in a very nice hall in august have a wedding at the de'vere in Bournemouth

I kind of agree with Mr Wild - They appear to be similar set-ups?

Kit lists of the two might help differentiate.

The second is a little more presentable mind you.

Mayhap, but even if the kit was identical in each case ( which it isn't quite , )can we not appreciate that the lad has made huge strides in presentation? And could we perhaps bask in the reflected glory of that being due in some part to the advice given on here. :D

I agree.

Even if the kit was identical, it shows a leap forward in thinking with regards to presentation.

Indeed kit was almost identical i did say subtle differences, different star cloth no lasers, 2x Revo 4 instead of 1 Revo 4 and 1 led messenger and a lot tidier have also ditched the laptop stand and i'm planning on a different flight case for the play out system.
