Am looking to get a roofbox for family trips and also for carrying tripods, booth etc for gigs and with my budget of 300 euros have narrowed it down to:
Mont Blanc vista 450l, halfords exodus 580l and farad f1 480l. Anyone use these or have an opinion on them please?
thanks

I would definitely suggest one that has the ability to be opened on both sides, I used to have an Exodus which was a fab box, but only opened on one side and you had to practically climb in it to reach stuff on the far side.
I do rate Thule especially with the quick mount claw grips

thanks - the thule atlantic 780 is within budget but the reviews say the quick mount bits intrude too much (85mm!!!) into the box itself which puts me off it!

That is true and if you intend to completely fill the box then they do use up a bit of room, but they also make it much much easier and quicker to mount.

You could just go with the standard Thule fittings which dont take up much room at all.

My main point is with the 2 sided opening of the box, a must have in my eyes.

thanks again - do you mean that the standard and quick fitiings both come with the Thule atlantic boxes? If so thats a good option.
I'm trying another box tomorrow by farad (f1) that is two sided and hopefully will be the one if the price is right...
