Had an enquiry earlier this year from a local golf club about providing a disco to cover their 12 christmas party nights. I quoted £250 per night, but didn't even get the courtesy of a reply.
Today I have seen their christmas advert.
Package one:
3 Course Christmas Meal = all the trimmings £10.95 per head

Package two;

As above + disco :£19.95 per head

On the basis that the room holds about 150, and allowing for non-take -up, an average of say 100 people times extra charge of £9 per head = £900

and they can't afford £250 for the Disco!!!!

That is just taking the ****!! :omg: :mad:

This is what annoys me generally with Hotels - I've spent many a while meeting Hotel managers and working out prices, only for them not to bother coming back to me with a yes or no, even if you chase them up.

Have found even chains and independats will not go over £150 for these type of bookings but totally agree with the apathy about being not notified that they didnt want you

its their reputation if they book a poor show.

Thats what amazes me - they put on a poor show- people go elsewhere next year- put on a good show- they may come back again!

Don't agree there ............ I think it probably depends on the area and the Disco provided.

I'm with Ian on this, it can depend on the region, although we haven't had a problem getting full asking price your area Badger. However independants usually do tend to try & get a lower price than the chains
