Anyone heard this unit yet? Im considering it for dry-hires and small ipod weddings but no one local(ish) is stocking it.
Thanks

Simon at Discotechnology has them in stock, but Yorkshire is probably too far to go for a listen.
Ask your local shop if they can get one in on sale or return.

We don't have a local shop in Cumbria....theres Home DJ, but that's just a small arm of a standard electrical shop and dont keep much stock.
I've never seen/heard them in the flesh so to speak, but it looks ideal solution for speeches and background music for most weddings. Having said that, IMO it would be very much out of its depth for the evening disco, and consequently would be thrashed to death by many clients. The big problem with dry hire, is you have no control of how your equipment will be used, or quite frequently misused by your client. My solution is to over specify the requirements, so their ears will hurt before my speakers do.

Great piece of kit of the price, have had no problems, really robust for the road

How loud does it go? Can it be used for smaller ipod type weddings at a decent volume or is it only suited to background stuff really?

Had a quick look at the less than helpful website!
the TEN PERCENT DISTORTION would put me right off.
Ive heard and used quite a few HK systems my own thoughts is..
The bigger ones sounds rather good however ive heard the smaller
ones being hammered and sounding very much like theyre going to blow up!.
so for 500 quid and as much distortion as a transistor radio its on the Davesounds Avoid list!.
come on HK ten percent means its verging on clipping!!! its not hi fi!
Just to confirm im not nattering!
heres the specs out of the amplifiers i use
this is a Chevin a1000
Total Harmonic Distortion
typical @ 1db below clip 0.04 %
20 kHz @ 1db below clip 0.07 %
seeminly HK have to drive theres into mega distortion to get them louder! ugh!
Cheers
