I think it is luck of the draw. I have the freebie listing and not had anything yet, though I know some others who get a couple a month, with the silver. Would be interested to know myself actually!

Ah but how many of those ten booked?

I would say UK-Disco is my best internet lead. Mainly because as a paid advertiser you get the SMS for enquiries to non-paid up disco's. I get about 5 or six a month from them and probably get booked for about 50% of those. I'm happy!

Do you have to pay gold for that or does the silver service give you the text service? I haven't looked into it, sorry for being lazy!

The text service is available for the Silver. I think it works out to about 35p per text.

I've got gold membership, and get around 10 a week enquiries, with about 50% booking. Only problem, is that the client can post an enquiry to all discos, therefore most discos reply with prices etc., and customer not always goes for the quality, just the cheapest.

It does however, bring you to the top of the list when searching on the web.

i have found that more people go for basic listings than those with the more expensive ive got a gold listing and can therefore see enquiries made public by those contacting basic listing companies.....afew weeks ago there was 15 on there not one contacted me? im guessing because jo public equate no webstie no expensive advert with low cost of disco??? maybe.

had lots of enquiries cant quote on booking to quote ratio tho.

We have just joined last week costs £23.50 I thnk and had to pay £3.50 for 10 credits to text me gigs come in, then plus V.A.T.

For the week we have been asked to quote for 7 gigs 1 has since booked with us. so you could say that any more now is a plus.

Have to say I am happy with the service was not sure about it when I signed up.

So would say go for it to others.

Pete

Thanks. I think I will give it a go in the near future, I am looking to expand on advertising so this may well be a successful venture! :)

I've got a gold listing in the West Midlands section, this produces lots of third party stuff which is all in warwicksire ad staffordshire(or bleedin' miles away as I call it) the actual number of local stuff has been very disappointing, but this may be because my own website is above ukdisco on a local search. Some tough decisions to be made methinks!

For not a lot of money I look at it that if you get 10 enquiries and get 1 booking from that it has paid for it's self, also as someone else said it's puts your hits up to your site so your site will get nearer the top for others to see.

So even if you dont get an enquiry it still helps you, not something where you just pay for an advert and thats the last anyone see it etc.

I believe that the gold membership is sold out at present and silver is availble at present but the silver membership is fastly beeing booked, so I would avise you think and act quickly, I have no connection with the site just adivce ok.

I've just upgraded to a gold listing :)

Quite handy that you can see all enquiries made for your area, quite alot of birmingham enquiries coming up - so not too far for me really. Warwickshire is great too.. since i'm practically on the border...

so on a gold listing i can see all the enquiries maded for the north east.

Yep, if the customer clicks the "show this enquiry to all people who cover this area".. it doesn't email you the enquiries though, you have to logon to the site to see them and then respond however you like.

i take it you cannot do this with a silver listing

Danno13

Yeah i think you can.. but only for your town that your listed under.. not the whole region.

Cheers for that Dan. I have emailed Jon at UK-Disco and he seems helpful so I think the Silver listing will be purchased shortly!

I wouldn't mind purchasing a gold listing, unfotunately they are sold out for my area. A few came up a few months ago and uk-disco decided to sell them on ebay. I didn't want to bid for such a listing on an auction site.

groovy - yes as already said i think with a silver you can see the listings in one area not sure if its your town tho or county tho ie. for me ... derby or derbyshire.

I've had quite a few enquiries, amd 5 or 6 bookings out of it; and that's on a freebie listing!

ive had 5 off a freebie listing. I think some customers are put off by a posh advert, they think u will charge more than everyone else so dont bother ringing. Ive had more yellow pages enquiries off a smaller advert than a big one

about a 40% firm booking rate. Very true about seeing the cheapest price and going for it.

Never had anything from this site, and a couple from UK-Disco and others in general. Seems to work quite well. (I have a standard listing on all sites)
