Since I got a second bassbin Ive been using it for most gigs and been putting my k12s on poles on top of the bins. The xlr input on the k12s doesnt lock in and on occasion they work themselves loose and the sound cuts out. Its not really feasible to tape all around it each time but is there any other solution im not thinking of?

A bodge that may well work, is to bend the pins in the lead slightly

I use mine above bins as well, but never had that problem. Have you tried different leads? The issue could be the XLR's rather than the speakers.

Yes, I've had some cheap mic leads that the XLR plug doesn't have the notch on the outer rim, so the socket has nothing to latch onto.
Have a look at your leads & if they're like that, bin them (or remove the plugs) & replace with some better quality ones.
Edit: Interesting, the sockets on the K12 don't appear to have a latch, as they are combination XLR & Jack.

I had this once with my K12.
During the evening my speaker went off and I thought it had blown only to find that the XLR cable had worked itself loose.
The downside to the speakers as mentioned above is that they don't have any locking latch on them!!!

Quite interesting when you look at the origins of XLR
The XLR connector was invented by James H. Cannon, founder of Cannon Electric in Los Angeles, California (now part of ITT Corporation), and for this reason it was sometimes colloquially known as a Cannon plug or Cannon connector and in Japan as Cannon jack, though this term has since fallen out of common usage in the industry.
Originally manufactured as the Cannon X series, subsequent versions added a latch (Cannon XL) and then surrounded the female contacts with a resilient polychloroprene, which resulted in the part number prefix XLR

*ponders*..... should I own up to knowing them as Cannons before I called them XLRs.... oh what the heck, Im not 52 Im 18 with 34 years experience :lol:

I always knew them as cannons until fairly recently, but then I was taught by a couple of old farts :sj:
