DJ terminology/wording you don't like

Bit of a pointless thread I am afraid :o

Is there any DJ terminology/words that you desperately avoid using ?? Two examples I have :

Client : I think the use of the word client is too clinical, don't really like 'customer' either though.

Rig : One thing I never do when talking to anyone is go on about my 'rig'. I think this gives the impression of a massive nightclub setup.

Any more ?? Obviously these are peoples personal opinions so no right or wrong to this thread.

I hate it. I do this for a living. Equipment is researched and then bought with a view to making profit or my life easier. When I'm not working, I do not play with my gear and it certainly is not a toy!

Im guilty of using that one :o Even when I get some new gear at work I refer to it as 'Toys'.

There isnt anything DJ related I hate using or hearing but one thing that does get on my nerves is when someone says "It ticks all the right boxes" Its over used mainly on property programmes.

I think Disco conjures up a certain 'cheesy' image. I would rather provide a Disco for a birthday but be a DJ at a Wedding ...

I dont think I ever use the word disco. Im a DJ and I take appropriate equipment with me to do the job

Even though I supply a 'Mobile Disco', I don't like the description. I know it's what it is but I still don't like it.
I thought the word 'Disco' was a description for a genre of music.
I'm not sure what else I would call it to be fair.
I've had the "You do Discos don't you?" loads of times and I generally say I'm a DJ and then....Yes, I do Discos... Funny isn't it.

Doesn't bother me unduly. Sort of describes what I (mainly ) offer, although if you're trying to push other aspects of the service, then I can see it might be a problem.

Not so much a DJing term but one used to death recently in the music we play - "(get) on the floor". Come on artists/producers - boring now - think of something else!!
