Neon party?

Hi, I have an 18th booked for this sat and although its been booked for a while now I've just been told its a neon party? I'm afraid to say I'm not sure what that is lol, I'm planning on taking some borrowed uv lights from a dj friend if possible along with my usual led's and lasers but does anyone have any tips as Ive never done this theme before

Lots of UV canons and UV tubes and anything that glows, Had one earlier this year, seems they like they are the in thing for 18th birthdays. :)

Not sure if it was just mine but heavily in to the Clubland music as well :)

Sounds good I'm getting a loan of uv's as I said any music should be easy enough, Thinking of getting a few packs of glow sticks if I can find any nearby. Time is against me but i'm sure I can put something together

Uv is not really neon though, depends what they mean by neon I suppose. More like this sort of thing I would have thought.

Ha ha, I think you are right mine has a few of the 20's left, but looks as though the 15's are taking over :-(

Well the night went well, The stage was tiny but the lights I had filled the place great, I went and bought some cheap light sticks but they weren't needed as there were loads there along with u.v's. the walls and windows were covered in black cloth. Nice effect and good party so all good.

The holiday caravan site that we go to have the neon nights but it's a case of "dancing in the dark" and the normal disco lights are turned off. It's all a case of UV cannons and neon/glo stuff. It's actually quite a good effect and the kids all love it! (and the bar lights are on so the adults are ok, too!).

Now I know I joked about the pound shop glo sticks before. But, in the interests of safety, I must point out that you need to do some research of what you're buying especially when children are concerned. I've seen certain cheap brands break easily and some younger kids have a habit of putting them in their mouths which is not good. I tend to buy mine in bulk from a reputable supplier so don't touch the pound shop ones anyway but I'm still always weary of the kids putting them anywhere near their mouths and, at the events I do where I give them out, I always announce to the parents that the kids need properly supervised when using them.

Just thought I'd best point that out.

Just want to back Dazzy up here with the poundland glow sticks, Doing my eighties night on friday and as I was snapping them to start glowing one split and went in my eye, I was in real bad pain for 20 mins, 2 bottles of saline eyewash later disco restarted, I will NEVER buy cheap ones again.

I bet a good laser and strobe in conjunction with UV would look great at one of these events!
