I wondered why I had more advance bookings for Thursdays in 2013 than Sundays so created a Poll on a Scottish Wedding Chat Forum.

Only 4 days have gone by and 61 Brides-to-be have voted.

Q. What Day of the Week are you getting Married on?
Sunday 2 votes = 3.28%
Monday 3 votes = 4.92%
Tuesday 0 votes = 0%
Wednesday 2 votes = 3.28%
Thursday 10 votes = 16.39%
Friday 14 votes = 22.95%
Saturday 30 votes 49.18%

I have lowered my Sunday prices.... and increased my Thursday prices to reflect this change. Hopefully I can increase my Sunday bookings from now on.

Presume thats because its midweek and not weekend rates applying at Wedding Venues.

ie less cost.

Cant recall any enquiries for Thursdays here--or much on Sundays-- still seems to be Saturday mainly---although we are not Wedding specialists we usually get a fair few enquiries.

Exactly. Once the venues get wind of it they'll increase their Thursday prices too.

Noticed a major drop in Fridays this year and next, more mondays than fridays next year.

I could have had more Fridays.... think I was too dear. Lowered my price a tiny bit to see if that helps (but increased Peak season prices to compensate)

Wow. Is that because you have no difference in prices for those day?

Dont know mate , I have never been asked to quote on a Thursday , at the moment my prices are the same for any day , I might have to look into this.

Same for me. It's never deterred people booking midweek and Sundays.

I have a Thursday wedding booked in for next month and I've just did a Tuesday wedding last month. However that was an Asian wedding and they celebrate for days on end. My type of party people:D :D :D :D

My Prices for Sunday - Thurs are the same as Friday and Mondays.
I have got 9 sunday weddings this year, 3 mondays, 1 Tuesday, 7 Thursdays.
I may get more midweek ones to quote later in the year.

Looking at Lees post on the horror Wedding its logical that working in areas of large City population like Edinburgh there must be fierce competition for Wedding business so its likely they are touting Wedding business 7 days a week, cant see that down your way Daryll other than large places like Southampton or Portsmouth.

Its all to do with population density I guess.

Since this thread started have had two MONDAY Weddings to quote on.

I suppose people expect half price?

Not from me though:rolleyes:
