Electro Funk? Disco? Hi-energy? Funk and Soul!!
Good morning all, just joined this good looking site.
Started Djing in 1986, having been influenced majorly by the birth of Electro Funk in 82'/83 and the Pirate radio stations such as LWR, Solar, Invicta Etc.
Back in those ole days i would spend my time learning the art of the scratch DJ, mixing and cutting on the decks in my dad's garage untill dawn broke and time to go to school! (I used to climb out of my bedroom window in the thick of the night and sneak into the garage to listen to the likes of Steve devonne, Young man Tim westwood and the Mastermind Roadshow oh they were the days!)
After the breakdance era, It was time to make some money and with my two Garrard turntables, a dodgy phillips Hi Fi amp (the days when everything was a seperate peice of equiptment) some flashing lights (that were actually road work orange flasing lights - well 30 odd of them all painted different colours - actaully was a crazy and somewhat stunning lightshow!!) I started the merry trail of the Mobile DJ.
20 odd years on and still loving it. Very busy in both the Mobile and Club circuit (although at 36 I am starting to feel those long hours!). So a big hello to all on mobliediscodirectory. Love to hear and share the memories ......
