Thought I'd share this...
Just got off the phone from a guy who literally ended up crying with joy! (no joke!).
Call came in around an hour ago. Usual last minute panic job. Wedding next Friday and the guy hasn't been able to get in touch with the Disco company he is (was) using. No replies to emails, the phone number seems to be disconnected etc etc..I asked all of the usual questions and as I thought, very cheap supplier. No money has changed hands and no booking forms supplied etc...He asked me for a price, I quoted him and he agreed.
Looked at my diary and I have 2 bookings that night already so wasn't sure if I could help. Took all of the details and said I'd call him back. Noticed in my diary that I originally had 3 bookings for the date but had crossed 1 out due to a cancellation. Rang the DJ that I had booked in for that date originally and yes, they are still available.
Called the guy back and said I could help. No word of a lie, he nearly deafened me when he screamed down the phone. He shouted to his fiance and she screamed too! He couldn't thank me enough and started crying and said I had made his day.
I've just got their details back for the booking forms and am meeting them tomorrow to get payment too. Job done!
I did ask out of interest who the other business was and to be honest, I've never heard of them. I also asked that should the DJ get back in touch with them because the wedding is just over a week away, what would they do (the price I charged is obviously a lot more) and the guy said (I won't list the exact answer)...."He'd be told where to go!!".
Business is business and all that but I actually feel pretty good today because I've made someone's day.
