Hi Guys
I am looking at possibly moving away from the poles and cross bar on my disco and using a t-bar stand either behind me or at the side. (looking for a neater set up and also faster. Hopefully all the lights will stay on the crossbar)
After all that! the question is: To make all the wiring neat, I need some sort of 4 input iec box with a bulging input plug which would mean one cable running down and going into the bulgin in my controller. Hope that makes sense.
I have used the search on here without too much success (or I might be being lazy!)
Something like this I think? http://cpc.farnell.com/transcension/cabl41/power-block-bulgin-plg-to-4x-iec/dp/DP30199
Any body got any links? Thanks in advance.

Does the item you linked to have the IEC sockets wired individually? It may be a bit large, but there was a Transcension Show Director on Ebay that didn't get a bid. I have one, and it's a good piece of kit. It does however have a large box up on the overhead, but only two wires running up the pole.

Hi Peter
I am a bit of a novice with all this. I didn't realise there was an option. I took it that it was just a case of buying a power block with a bulgin input and being able to run that to my switching unit which has a bulgin in the back. And I would then be able to control each iec seperately.
The way I was looking to do it, only the main bulgin cable would run up the pole? (apart from dmx cables)
I don't really want anything too bulky on the overhead.

I know what you want. I suspect that with a Bulgin input, the IEC sockets would be wired separately, that would make sense, otherwise they might as well use an IEC input.
The unit I referred to suffers from having a fairly large square box up top, which is the only thing that lets it down.
If I find anything suitable I'll post it.

This could be what you need http://www.cookies.co.uk/product.aspx?productid=24576 ? (and it's still manufactured and widely available ;) )

Thanks for that. Ideally I would like the cable to detach from the iec box, so that only the box was left when I dismantled it all. I am not sure if the one you are reffering to does?

I use the Standmate unit with my PAR56 cans - have done for years - and never had any problems with it. It came with the lighting package I bought (4 x PAR56, Transcension controller and Standmate unit plus all the cabling) and it's been a pretty good buy (although said controller has now been replaced with a Ryger Footlight 4 unit!).

So it looks like this will do the job http://www.decks.co.uk/products/Lighting_Cables/prolight/standmate2
What I (think!) I need is a bulgin male to male cable 10mtrs? (does the male to male part sound right?) There does not seem to be any uk suppliers?
