Hi all, looking at reinvesting in a sub but money is tight. After borrowing Neil's db sub 15 I was pretty impressed.
Question is, would 2 of these be overkill paired up with my srm 450's?
Would 2 sub 12's be any good?
One sub and 2 tops aren't that pleasing on the eye unless you can hide it under your stand.
What are your thoughts and experiences?

I feel its easier to have two subs than one. Looks better, no need for ugly, dangerous tripods and you have the range for bigger rooms. I bring two rcf 902 to nearly all my gigs now and they are great. I'm sure the dbs are also a ood speaker.

Rcf are definitely beyond my price range, the Db range seems good value for money. I agree with the "cosmetic" look with only one sub, I need to eliminate the stands really.

I have mine under the booth on its side so its wider rather than taller and it works for me. Never felt the need for two subs.
The thing with having two subs out is everyone will put their drinks on it like it or not...

Turn the bass up.... once you have shaken a few drinks off onto the floor people soon get the idea

Easily get two for that price if you keep your eyes out on the fb groups, in fact there is one for Swindon that I'm in.
Ebay I've been keeping my eye on as well, pairs usually got for 550ish

I use 2 DB Sub 15d subs with a pair of SRM450 mk2's and they are very well balanced

Do you have a link Neil?
I use 1 or 2 Opera Sub 12'S with a pair of 450V2's I use 5 sound versions
2 x 450V2's
2 x 450V2 + 1 Sub12 (under ultimax deck stand on its side) 450's running full, 12 running from L+R
2 x450v2 + 1 x sub 12 (again under deck stand) this time with 450's running from xover ouput.
2 x 450V2 + 2 sub 12's (450's pole mounted) 450's run full range with low cut
2 x 450v2 + 2 sub 12's (450's pole mounted) 450's run from Xover output
The cabs are very similar to the 15's power wise slight difference with the freq output but with the 450's they are more than enough I went for the 12's as I wanted to ensure they went in the car, I always though you'd need a 15" spkr as a minimum for bass, but they do respond well. I brought mine from Thomman for just under £290 each new last Summer (free delivery from Germany)
