Wind up lighting stand

Hi Guys

I am looking for some advice on what to purchase in terms of a lighting stand.

The one I am using at the moment is non wind up, and also does not seem to go high enough. I think most of the wind up ones will go as high as 3mtrs.

I will not be putting much weight on it so don't really need a heavy duty one.

I could also do with the option of being able to have 6 fixtures ie 6 holes (not sure if most are 4 hole only?)

Any suggestions? What do you use.

Doughty do quite a robust and extensive range if you're willing to spend the pennies.

Best idea I've seen for t-bars has been a powerdrive-48mm clamp, with a custom length bar attached, you can then hang yer lights using standard hook clamps or fancy wing nut clamps - whichever tickles your fancy

If you really want to go to town, you can have your bar pre-wired with mains & dmx and sockets to plug into.

But as always - good ideas cost the earth

I can't fault Ultimax stands so far and I'm sure they will custom do a t-bar for you.

American DJ ST-132 is a quality stand, solid as rock but quite a heavy beast.

I was looking at the powerdrive stands and IMO it would be overkill (unless I am looking at the wrong ones?) the spec says they will hold approx 60kg :eek:
I really only need the stand to hold about 10kgs at the most.

Thanks very much. I should have posted that I purchased a QTX stand. It holds a max weight of 50kg ( although I won't be needing anywhere near that weight! ) I used it last night for the first time and I am really happy with it. I will try and get some pics soon.
