Interesting ...

PLASA will be moving to the ExCel in London as of 2013 ..... and there is more, the new dates for PLASA will be from 6-9th October !!! .... Now that is going to 'clash' with BPM ???

Your thoughts ?

I have never been to Plasa but have BPM so I would be inclined to stick with BPM myself.

I will be going to BPM for the first time this year, I went to Plasa almost ever year when I lived in London.
To be honest Plasa is aimed at the big corporate market/club scene so will be interested in checking out BPM.

IMO, it basically goes to show what everyone has been saying for years: PLASA is not interested in / has nothing for the average DJ, and is really only interested in the big production stuff now.

I think people have missed my point lol

The dates will now 'clash' so what will the vendors do ? put on two shows/setups at the same time ?

They are going to split the attendees ? or is BPM going to move it's date ?

I think you've missed your own point Glenn!

Most Vendors at BPM wouldn't be at PLASA anyway and if they were, they'd be big enough to have enough staff and resources to do both.

Also, both shows are on for more than one day.

I was somewhat overwhelmed by the level of technology and products on display at BPM last year. From what I've heard, I think PLASA would probably make my brain explode!!

We will do both, that's what we are doing this year.

There are a good few of the exhibitors that now do BPM ( which has grown every year ) and they also do Plasa. Non of them would have the resources staff wise to do both shows at the same time or even within a week of each other.

I think BPM may change it's date or it will be a fight. Remember BPM started only a few years ago by one man and I think the whole industry is impressed by how big it's grown. There is no doubt that Plasa is no longer a DJ show, I stopped attending about 4 years ago. However, Plasa is for the higher end product and these shows are all about taking trade orders, the bigger the value the better - so it will certainly be very interesting.

Yes. I googled it. I have a sneaking suspicion though that I may have misunderstood something.
They've moved it to January, to avoid the clash, by the looks of it. I'll have to give it a miss though, cos they appear to have decided to hold it in Mexico!!  BPM 2013 dates (http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=17180) :daft:
