I'm working at anew venue in December and they've requested PLI & PAT, no problem off they went and I received an email back saying thank you and please could I take a read of the "DJ Crib Card".
Here's what it said, I think it's good to see a venue trying to work with you for the good of everyone although it's the first time I've come across a Electric cut off timer.
Evening Entertainment To all Bands & DJs
The ****** is licensed to play music until 12am (Midnight)
Please ensure all music stops at 12am (Midnight), we suggest you wind things down slightly earlier to enable you to play the 'one more!!' which is often requested when you have a full dance floor!!
The power to all plug sockets located on The Dance Floor are connected to an automatic timer (which cannot be overridden as part of our license), the power will be cut at 12.05am to give you time to shut down any sensitive
equipment, music must have stopped at 12am (Midnight).
No sound limiter is fitted but The Ashes management reserve the right to request you to reduce the volume if we deem it to be excessive. The external doors from the dance floor to the courtyard must remain locked while
evening music is being played (it is possible we will be required to install a sound limiter as part of our license if excessive levels of music carry down the valley to the village, let’s work together to ensure this does not
happen).
There is no contractual liability between us in respect of any other third parties employed by the hirer (normallythe Bride & Groom). Any third party suppliers introduced by the hirer must satisfy The Ashes that they are fully
compliant with all statutory regulations, in particular with regard to public liability insurance and electrical safety(PAT tests).
Please keep the FIRE EXIT (door leading to to The Bar stairs) clear at all times, no cables may cross this space. Access to the Beer Cellar must be accessible to staff but you may set up infront of this door (access only
occasionally needed).
Unfortunately dry ice, smoke machines & similar are not permitted as we have a sensitive fire alarm system in
place as part of our license.
PLEASE NOTE:
We cannot override the automatic timer and it makes for a very disappointing end to the evening for your client and their guests if a song is cut off half way through. Please help us to help you provide the perfect evening & entertainment on this special day. We would also appreciate it if you spot spillages etc on the dance floor please alert a member of staff.
Many Thanks in advance & we look forward to working with you
