I have been contacted by this Dj who is offering work nationally and requesting me to register. I've been unable to sign up as the payment arrangement is not acceptable to me. Has anyone else here been contacted or does anyone know of him?

The grammar and punctuation in his email didn't lead me to believe he was. ;) ;) For this reason alone, I shall not be joining his happy band.

I had a quick look via the email they sent. The registration asked me for my bank account and sort code. I didn't proceed any further.

I haven't seen this email but from Shaun's post, it would scream "SCAM" at me!! Why on earth would you provide bank details at the point of registration? Surely this is something that's safer to provide once a payment becomes due?

Not sure it's a 'scam' as such - difficult to tell really. I haven't really signed up though, but I did receive the email. :confused:

I had an email from him some time ago and thought what the hell, you got to be in it to win it and there is an old saying 'there is no such thing as bad publicity', so I gave it a go, he seems very guenuine to me, he phoned me as he says he does to each and every person and will quite happily chat, telling you what he plans to do and how he plans to do it. He told me hes been a DJ for 20-25 years or so, I see no reason not to believe him, he told me he will be at BPM this year so anyone in any doubts could look him up.

It's something hes just started up, so it's not live so to speak, hes building a selection of DJ's up across the country and when that's in place will start his marketing, obviously no point trying to aproach people without the infastructure in place first.

Hes interested in quality gigs and so he is emailing DJ's who he feels are more professional and he would feel happy to have aboard, that's probably why many of you have been emailed.

It's not going to cost you anything, to sign-up and you never know it could be a £500-£700 gig on a date that you have empty in your diary.

But the way I look at it, if you get nothing from it, then what have you lost, 5 mins signup and if you do get a booking your quids in.

The part about the sign-up and bank details I also though a little forward, but I if you talk to him, I am sure it wont be a problem.

I don't think he's out to scam anyone in anyway and good luck to him if it works out for him like he hopes and even better if I get a gig from it.

If I would have then I would probably have binned it too to be honest.
Good to see a reply from someone who has gone for it but it's not something I'd be interested in.

Anyway, I'm obviously not up to the standard he requires!
