Transporting glass

I have a few oversized Martini glasses and other glassware that I use for the Candy Cart and at the moment am using bubble wrap and plastic crates to transport them, but we have managed to break two of the glasses already. :(

The only way I can think of doing it is to get foam and make cut outs for the more delicate pieces of glassware.

I'm not overly practical, so any ideas please?

some of the people I have met who also do the sweet tables and use those glasses tend to use "mothballs" i.e the bits of polystrene that people use for shipping stuff. It seems to work for them but never asked how many they have broken! :)

Depending on where you purchased them from, ask the seller if they have any of the manufacturers packaging left over. Failing that, I'd stay with the plastic crates and get hold of some foam sheet and make 'tubes' of foam pluged at one end to custom fit the glasses (glued with contact adhesive and renforced with duct tape) then pack them into the crate. If there is spare space, use those air pocket things that CPC use in their packing to take up the space and stop the glasses moving. I would have thought that would keep them in one piece.
