the dynamos are great i run 6 i bought 2 packs ie. 8 but the optics on them are superb very bright indeed i run them with 250w datamoons and is 4s and i moves and they most certainly hold their own ........i will be honest as always of my 8 5 have been back to the shop with dodgey lamp holders and other various problems ... but all fixed on warranty and since i believe the workmanship in my repairs shop is probably better than the original workmanship absolutely no problems at all.

great lights highly recommended.

if you want to know how to dmx them so they do the opposite to each other let me know.

i use 6 in a school i do in their main hall with 3 datamoons / is4s which ever take my fancy on the day and really if you have too many of them your audience sit the whole night with napkins covering their eyes .

hmmm, my lamp holders have just started playing up too. must be poor quality components. How are u finding ur ishows, im still waiting for mine having ordered em from a certain german website which doesnt take debit cards !! having to wait for a bank transfer, grrr.
still they were silly cheap, so cheap i fact that i bought an irock colour changer as well and still payed less than uk retail for the ishows

simon have you ordered is 4s?? i tried to order 2 more and recieved an email saying they were out of stock and they had contacted the supplier and were unable to get any more in????? this was last week. i had 2 dynamos that the lamp holders were not actually attached to the units at all.... went to put the lamps in and the holders were just rattleing around loose inside.

the spread on the is4 is not as good as the datamoon but you have more colours and i like the gobos more kind of 3d rather than the flat datamoon ones. and run alot smoother as i find my datamoons quite jerky.

im sure i paid with my visa debit card on the german site beginning with t.

DAZ

is4 s are great not the spread that the datamoons have but run smoother with better 3d ish gobos and more colours i ordered 2 as i wasnt sure ... liked them and tried to order a further 2 on thurs last week. i recieved an email from thomman saying that they were out of stock and had contacted their suppliers who had in turn told them the could not supply anymore for whatever reason i found a store here that did them for 164 ....20 quid cheaper than anyone else i found but had the same story with them ... out of stock unable to get anymore.

nice effects though but no cases available for them yet.

Dyanmo's are great....until you want to be clever with your DMX.

The stepper motors arn't that great at all, and don't give an amazing "swooping" beam unless its going very fast, as the "steppers" are further apart if that makes sense.

V. bright though, awesome :)

Thomann still have the 3s on the site for little over £100 each. I use T4s and am just wondering whether to get a couple of the 3s to link to the Imoves.

Only ever used the dynamos with the little ca8 controller but what can i say other than absolutly unbeatable! Light weight, lots of built in shows, superb price...

Although no matter how good they are personally i would never run them just on their own.. Whether it was 4 or 8 of them... think it would still need some sort of moon flower such at the datamoon or evl spin to cover the dancefloor while the dynamos moved around the room. Plus i think 8 would be a bit too overkill and make your show too samey! At least with a couple of moonflower type effects it will give a bit of a different movement.

daz thats exactly what ive gone for 2 4s and 2 3s still got my datamoons and 2 imoves ...... i would agree that 8 dynamos is prob over kill thats what i wanted to do but even 4 put out a hell of a lot of light i had 4 dynamos 2 is4s and a datamoon in a school hall last friday with 2 uvs ....plenty of light

oh granny pants !!!!! my 3s arrived today nice lights pumped the living room full of smoke and sat with the curtains drawn with them on . vey nice bright with a nice spread like them alot more than the long serving datamoons. nly pig with them is you have to unscrew just about every screw on the unit just to fit the lamp lol.

its the same with all the i-solution elc units, you have to remove half the casing on my irock barrells to get at the bulb. cant wait for mine to arrive now, ive ordered a colour changer as well, just to balance the bar with my kaleido on

theres no reason as far as i can c apart from cooling, they are mostly hollow when u open them. maybe its to make em look similar scale to abstracts vrx range ? i had a vrx colour changer and onboard led menu system is the same

Yep - as Steve said... it's the Disco Warehouse. They are a decent bunch there, always ready and willing to help. They've got a demo room in their warehouse and last time we were there (just to pick up a couple of bits and bobs) we ended up spending around 2 hours in the demo room whilst they showed us all the different lights they's just got in, even though they knew they didn't have a hope in selling us any of them at that time.

The warehouse is pretty big and every spare inch is piled from floor to ceiling with boxes of equipment!!!!! They sell a lot of 'bedroom DJ' stuff (especially on eBay) but they also have a lot of mid-range stuff aswell. They don't stock much of the higher-end gear, but they will gladly get any in that any of their customers want. (Plus they always give us a decent discount as well :) :) )
