My email was hacked the other day and was sending spam to people in my address book, very annoying but easy enough to sort out.

But one person emailed back, the lady had contacted me a while ago and was having trouble finding a venue (Angela may remember this one) but I heard no more from her and assumed she had given up on her party. Transpires she had accidentally deleted lots of her emails, and couldn't remember my details - but venue found, and booking now going ahead (70's disco and funk theme - very nice!), so thank you Mr Hacker, you did me a favour!

And in future I'll be sending a polite follow up email to people who seem interested but haven't got back - just one extra booking would make it worthwhile.

 Nice one! I do remember it. Where has she booked in the end?

(...and yes, been getting 'spam' supposedly from you... also from Paul Denslow (Sapphire Disco) too)

It's going around, I was getting them from Steve for a while as well.

If you remember she had about 30 guests and was after a smaller venue - so she's only gone and booked the Olympia Hall in White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre which holds 200!

But apparently it can be partitioned - it'll still be too big in my opinion but there's only so much I can say about it now. Hopefully I can set-up in a way to cut down the space even more. I'm tempted to just invite them over to mine!

Do what we did on Saturday. Starcloth partition of the hall. Gave me a great backstage area.

I've got my spiral backdrop, it's only 3m x 2m but it'll certainly help, I know her budget won't stretch to hiring anything else in. I've got over a month before the gig so I'll probably pop over to have a look at the hall to work out the best way to do it.

Spam paying off for someone other than the spammer?? This is previously unheard of!! Nice one! :)

 So the venue they got didn't end up meeting ANY of their criteria!

Funnily enough, the venue that Steve mentioned where we put the Star Cloths in to cut the hall in half would have met their location criteria (it was about 5 mins from Wood Green Station up towards Bounds Green)

Sorry about that Angela I spoke to BT and I think I've got it sorted out now.

How did you sort yours out Martin ? just in case I still have a problem.

No need to apologise, Paul. I think it's happened to most people from time to time (especially since the advent of Facebook for some reason!)

Simply changing the password sorted it out for me - that's what the Q&A section advised and it worked (I'm with BT/Yahoo Mail).

I think she's ended up with a larger hall than she started with! But from my point of view it's fine, ground floor and can park right next to the load in door.
