Anyone been looking into this?

I'm quit intrigued by it, like the idea of the effects/4 deck players in the software side of things, which is released on 1st November.

I'm also quite liking the design of the Pioneer Controller to accompany the software.

I'm going to have to get saving, or selling.

Currently on SSL with CDJ's. But really don't want to part with them.

However, I've got a Denon HC4500, Some Denon DNd4500's and a DB tech sub which hopefully I could shift to raise the £800!

Keen to hear how you get on with it. :)

I'm allll over this. Cant wait to get one.

I get a feeling I will be mapping it myself (traktor)

I MAY even give serato DJ a whirl as its native - But I havent been able to get on with any of the previous software releases.

TRAKTOR for the win :)

Yes, and first impressions are very, very good. Solid build, easy to navigate. Downside is some drop out which is probably down to the kernel and buffering settings, but I have adjusted these and will see if it makes a difference.

I had some issues with played tracks not turning grey, and then after a while it seemed to kick in. I suspect a software update at some point will rectify. Just remember not to touch the sensor button by accident, I did, and then got in a mess as when I used the cross fader, the next track was at the beginning so could not play in reverse, and all I had was silence and a moment of panic until I figured out what happened.

The performance pads are good fun too, the hot cues are great.

So aside from a few teething problems, which are mostly about getting used to the controller and software, I am very pleased with the kit and if you are looking to replace your controller, it's well worth considering.

Looking forward to taking delivery of mine on Monday.

I've had to sell my cdj's to pay for it. Not sure whether i'll regret that or not, but can always buy some CDJ2000 Nexus's if i remortgage the house!!;)

I have been using it since January, I absolutely love it. I have never usec or even considered a controller before, I have always used a mixer and seperate midi controller. The first time I saw the SX I loved it and havent looked back since I started using it.

It doesn loads more than I need or will ever use personally. But I love using it. I used to use a DJM5000 mixer and a DN4500 controller in a flight case which weighed a ton. So the SX wins all ways.

Also I never used Serato before, I used OTS. The hardest bit for me was converting all my OTS files back to native format but I quickly learned how to use Serato which was very easy. The serato DJ software and the DDJ-SX are just great to use.

Although I never experienced any drop out issues, this problem has now been fixed.

Hi Andy

thanks for the reply.

I was wondering what mic your using with the DDJ SX?

I see on some of the pioneer forums that some of the guys have been having an issue with the mic. Have you had this?

Thanks

Iain

Hi Iain,

There used to be a issue with distortion as the input was too "hot" since the new firmware this has solved the issue. There wasn't really a problem before, just meant that you had to plug in a 20db pad.

All ok now though, I use a SM58.
