Another noise complaint.

A live performance with no amplified music by noisy revellers (http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/s/2123617_masked_morris_dancers_told_to_stop_after_n oise_complaint) was curtailed because of noise complaints.

I particularly loved the line which said they were masked because formerly dancers had painted their faces, lest they be recognised!! Says a lot in my view. :D:D:D

Hmmm. I wonder what time of evening it was when the police received the complaint. If it was pre-9pm then the dancers are perfectly entitled to make a noise in public as this is covered in the Noise Abatement Act 1960 (Original Draft). Then again, I suppose this can be also be covered in the Clean Neighbourhoods & Evironment Act 2005 or the Environment Protection Act 1990 which extends the rights of local authorities to investigate noise pollution complaints (still doesn't explain why the police were involved, though?).

Or, it could just be a case of some "Bah humbug" type character who has a personal grievance against Morris Dancers!! ;)
