Some of my latest photo's (non disco related)

As I mentioned a while ago, I'm working on starting my own photography business. I have some basic kit to start with but will be investing in more up to Christmas.

Here's a few photo's I've taken recently:

Nice piccies mate, but I have just one observation. You haven't got any of the Bride, or the cake. Fairly glaring oversight, I'd have said. ;)

I have one observation too, where did I say they were wedding pics???

Just still getting to grips with the camera, I have one portrait booking so far (after Christmas) then I have some second shooter gigs with a fellow tog :)

Well I liked them. I've seen much much worse. I thought the detail and definition was excellent, although I'll freely admit the subject matter wasn't overly exciting.

Nice photos, but like other's have mentioned, not great photos.

As a constructive criticism, I think you need to work on your composition a bit more - eg I think the photo of the little statuette in the leaves would look better if the bottom wasn't chopped off, and the photo from behind of the large statue looks like the leg that's down is as thick as a tree trunk because the background ruins the line of the leg (ie you can't distinguish the leg from the background). The leaves on a twig I just think wasn't a good composition at all, and even the autumn leaves and trees I felt was slightly off with a tad too much foreground than would be my choice for the ideal photo.

BUT: you're just starting out, and hopefully you'll develop an 'eye' with practice, and as Peter said... I've seen lot worse!

So much negativity, 2nd pic looks great and tbh you would be better of posting on a photography forum and getting feedback from people in the know, it's like asking on a photograpy forum what they think of your disco system setup, they will be basically clueless.

I already have and have had some good feedback so far and a lot of suggestions on how to get the best composition, I use the TP forum, really knowledgeable and helpful people on there...

Are you sure your monitor is calibrated correctly as it looks fine to me.

The picture of the leaves on the twig was mainly a test using depth of field (i.e. blurring out the background) and to be honest, the small girl statue - I now know the composition was off as apparently there should be more background in the direction she is facing... always learning :)
