A month ago, my beloved Nokia N8 ceased to function. No surprise really, cos both it and I got drenched in a storm! Since it was out of warranty ( by about a week ) I claimed on the household policy. The N8 was sent off in a jiffy bag paid for by the company, and I awaited results. The N86 which I'd brought out of retirement while it was sorted developed the fault it had ben replaced once already for, and I lost the speaker. I could only make and hear calls on the handsfree in the van. Not good. We had a look around the many "obsolete" phones in the house, and found that my son's Samsung would work. He warned me that it was the most user unfriendly phone he'd ever had, and I can see why!!! :mad:
So today, I rang the insurers to gee them up, and thay promised to get back to me. true to their word, they did, and offered me a replacement phone, or a cheque. I then rang Orange/EE and spent an hour on the phone being passed from department to department, but at the end of it I came away with a new contract, a new Nokia Lumia 800 to be delivered by courier, and a buyout figure on my old contract considerably smaller than the cheque promised by the insurers.
Having read a few reviews of the phone, it looks as if it should suit me just fine. Happy days. :D
