You will see that on all forums even ones that dont allow guests.

They are spiders and crawlbots from search engines such as Google etc which are going through the pages and indexing them.

Also with a lot of forum software you get picked up as a guest before you sign in, even if you have your credentials saved. As a member you will only show once for any particular day irrespective of how many times you visit but the guest count may be multiple visuts from the same member particularly if they access the site from different internet connections or PCs.

If you're having an issue then maybe it's not the forum or it's members that's the problem. Perhaps it's time to be more 'forward thinking' and open your eyes to some of the feedback and opinions you've already received from our diverse bunch of forum members? Just a thought.

If you send me your email address I'll happily forward 14 emails I've received from 'ex' forums members who have left and a further '2' who just view and 'yes' Shaun your name has been mentioned of dragging them down and effectively using condersending and rather rude remarks. But I agree the members and the forum isn't the problem it's the vast majority of moderators, who are spoiling what could be a hugely popular discussion forum.

My feelings on this would be removing all moderators, staff members, and admin staff completely from joining in with conversations and take a back seat to monitor and provide a pre-written warning if problems occur. - The problems lie within -

I am on one for the Ford Galaxy and whilst it lists thousands of member the number of "active" members regularly posting is under a hundred. The core of posters on that forum probably numbers 25 and probably 10 of them are the admin team.

It stands to reason that the admin team are going to spend a lot of time on a forum, thats why you choose them as admins. How can someone monitor a forum if they only visit once in a blue moon !!!!

I am NOT part of the admin team, I havent met any of the admin team, and havent had any problems with the admin team.

I just come here because its full of useful information and I can contribute to threads having had 40 years experience with discos and electronics in general.

I also suspect (from posts you've made and questions that you've avoided) that you're not operating fully within the law, but you're definitely sailing close to the wind! The biggest UK discussion forum on the web is a website is www.digitalspy.co.uk have a look through the site, read the posts etc the site is popular because the owners allow the members to get on with having discussions with each other and they do not get involved unless a thread is closed etc - They do not put users down or tell them what naughty children they have been.

I've said it before, the site staff here are first and foremost 'members', and a part of the community alongside each and every other member. The VAST majority of the member base don't have a problem here. Idiots and those out to troll and cause disruption tend to have a tougher time. It's up to each individual which category they feel best suited to.

As a black (but not female) DJ of over 30 years standing I have never noticed a "huge demand" for my services just because I am black:confused:

Actually, as someone who now knows what being a Mod entails, I know you're wrong. We work hard to make this a pleasant and polite place to be, and the Admins do even more. Without this work, it would be chaos.

Sorry to butt in here but........ How the :Censored: can you put these forums down, I have been a member for a couple of years now and because of these forums (Admins included) My business is quite close to the top of its game, I now have personal friends who are members of MDD and can honestly say apart from Shaun, Peter, Darren,:p:p The admins are the finest bunch I have seen , Not only have I seen my business grow I have also witnessed quite a few other members business grow. Without being rude to you megamix, Please go back under your bridge.
