OK folks, just wanted to know if I'm using excessive kit tonight...
On the main stage at a school for the after-show party. About 50 teenagers, with music for probably no more than 45 minutes. (I'm doing it as a favour...). Thought I'd take the opportunity to use it to trial some new kit.
So I've set up 4 x Showtec Sunstrip Actives (10 channel audience blinder batten things) along the front and put 2 High End X-Spot Xtreme movers on the speakers. Now considering these use 700w discharge lamps and 38 DMX channels each (they've got 3 different gobo wheels inside them!), it should look good but is it over the top? Oh, and the theatre technician is going to run 4 Robe Robin 600 LED movers he's rented for the production from his desk too...
The kit is basically in but we've got less than 10 minutes to get the gig started after the show finishes, and I've been told that it doesn't need to be neat as it's a really informal little party. Will attempt to get the odd pic.
