Audio signal limiter

Does anyone on here know if there is an audio signal limiter available on the market for controlling the audio input to a dmx 192 controller?
I have not been able to find one on the net yet.

How are you 'feeding' it? Is it a line-in from your mixer? Does your mixer have a spare output ("Booth" / "Zone 2" etc.) perchance that you could use to send a regulated signal?

Or does it have a built-in mic? In which case, varying degrees of success can be had with one or several layers of masking tape, blu-tac etc.

I take an audio output from mixer with phono and at present have a 10k pot before the input to dmx. This I reduce the signal with as I increase output from the mixer. I am wondering if there is something available that will automatically reduce the signal to a set level so I do not have to keep adjusting the pot. The signal is stronger with bass and reduces with the lack of bass on some tracks so I would like to have a set signal limiter if possible.

What make/model is the mixer so we know what output's we've got to play with?

Some mixers have a "record" output which is kept at line level and not affected by the master volume - obviously this could do the job for you without any extras?

Thanks Julian, I will check the model tomorrow as I cannot remember which model Numark it is. If it has a record output I will try it and get back with results.

Behringer shark will do what you want it's £60 from thomann. Use the compressor function on it and that should do you.
