Nearly a no show

No not me , the guests..............

I was booked to provide a disco/karaoke at a social club in a nearby town ( played there before) , I was booked from 7:30 until midnight , so I arrived at 6:00 , giving my self enough time to set up and test , so at 7:00 I was ready , everything checked out , I was happy with the look and the sound , 7:30 came and went , so did 8:00 , the ladies behind the bar were puzzled , as was I , 8:30 came and went , I was getting a bit worried by now , all dressed up and no where to go , they all turned up at 8:55 , no reason, no apologies , not a word , straight to the bar and up for a dance.
turned out to be a good night , quite strange.................

Probably had a better offer at a local bar (free cocktails, 2-4-1, £1 shots, etc). Get tanked up on the cheaper booze then off for a dance. This would also explain why they didn't need much alcoholic lubrication at your venue before they got their dancing joints moving!!

We did the same thing a few weeks ago before we went to the comedy night. We had a couple in Wetherspoons then down to Revolution where we'd gotten some vouchers for free Christmas cocktails before we headed off to the venue (strangely enough, the venue was called "Venue" - I can see some confusion coming from that one!!). The suprising thing was, the comedy club were actually selling cheaper drinks themselves! (3 for £5 on Budweiser, all pints @ £2, and £8 bottles of wine!!). All I can say it, oo my poor head the next day!! :beer1: :beer1:

Last night it was almost like that for me until 21:30, except I knew where all the guests where........

In the Hotel's restaurant (separate room, three rooms away) for a sit down meal :D
