Ideas for a ceiling.

Any ideas for dressing a very plain, low ceiling at a golf club? We're after ideas to make it look nice during the day (obviously can use lights during the evening.

Favourite so far is white ribbons from the centre - any other thoughts?

Artex is a bit old hat now, people can't put their silly energy consuming stupidly bright spotlights in properly when it's artexed!

It's one of those removable tiled ceilings as far as they could remember (and I can't quite see from the websites photos), I'll be visiting next week to check it out.

Best bit is when they booked the venue there was a beautiful view out of the main window - since their last visit the trees have been uprooted and now there's a crazy golf course with a large pirates galleon wreck instead! The venue said 'we didn't have to inform you because it's not a change to the room you've booked'. So curtains are remaining closed and room being dressed to make up for it.

Just had a look, but I haven't got a picture that really shows it, but we did a gig a few months ago where they employed a company to 'dress' the room, and they suspended a circular frame in the middle of the room and had large swathes of voile going out from that to the corners and mid-points of the sides of the room. We shone uplighters on to the voile and it worked quite well. I know they did various types of ceiling dressings - including ones incorporating fairy lights. I really cannot recall how they affixed it though.

Anyway, the point being, venue decorators do have things like that available that are designed for the purpose.

I think Angela's suggestion of contacting someone in the business may bear most fruit.
