View Full Version : Kam 1000 3D Laser anyone?

Hi folks,

Anyone out there got one of these lasers (or a copy by any other manufacturer)?
I've seen one in a demo room and I was very impressed with the variety and clarity of the tricks it performs, but I'm a bit concerned it might not be bright enough. Can anyone please give me their road test opinion?

Very happy with mine! You can change the effect to suit your venue or crowd. I would say its plenty bright enough. Just be careful when using the ILDA as Its possible for it to go single beam - Very dangerous!

recently saw the 3 of that series working together as a set and to say for arounf 500.00 bloody good value, unfortuantly I have too many lasers now..................................... unless i sell some :)

It's very good to add variety to the evening. However, its a class 3b laser so needs respect, even though it's inexpensive. Pay attention to minimum heights, and minimum forward and side distances, it's not for smaller venues or low ceilings (min 3m) safe operating height. Crowd scanning as we know is not good practice, or safe in most circumstances, so you need to think about where you will project onto. Last weeks venue was difficult because had mirrors straight in front of the gantry on the opposite side, so a no go. Suggest a DMX controller with it, so you can transition the effects away from narrow beam images.

Just a quick video to show the laserscan in action at Sheffield City Hall Ballroom, and thats a big venue! Incidently the moonflowers are 10w led Acme Cougars.
