Hi all I took the wife to see Train for Valentines night and they were very good also the support act Gin Wigmore was well received too. My question is they were using 4 led moving wash type lights which were very good and probably expensive so anyone got any idea what they might be and what similar would work for a mobile DJ up to 400 capacity venue . I suspect they were Martin 101 wash or similar ..

Sorry I was too far away for a photo to be any good the venue was the O2 academy in Newcastle so fairly small by most tour standards

Google gives me this - http://www.robe.cz/news/article/robe-ledwashes-get-aboard-train-tour/, which leads to this: http://www.robe.cz/products/article/robin-600-ledwash/ so I'm guessing they used a few Robe Robin 600s. Fairly common units now in rock and roll.
Or maybe the lighting came from the venue itself - according to their tech specs they've got GLP Impressions in house.
As for something giving a similar effect at a DJ's price point... how much can you afford? I'm guessing something like the ADJ Inno Color Beam http://www.rsdmusic.com/products.asp?prodid=2690&catid=57&mcatid=8 is what you're looking at. Of course 6 months and the market will have moved on.
