After so many years, at the age of 72, we have lost Tony Sheridan. He took The Beatles under his wing when they arrived in Germany in the early 1960s and they made their first recordings with him before becoming the biggest band in the world.
It was the record My Bonnie which first caused Brian Epstein to take an interest in the young lads from Liverpool making a name for themselves in Europe.
“You could always tell there was something special about them,” said Tony, looking back on some crazy days in Hamburg when The Beatles were his backing band.
At the time Tony was a star attraction in Germany - a pioneering rock ‘n’ roll rebel and the leather-clad boys from Liverpool learned their craft watching and listening to the man from Norwich they called “The Teacher.”

Tony , born in Norwich 1940 and went to City of Norwich School is my best friends half brother. I often play Tony's recording of Let's Dance with The Beat Brothers (Beatles) but so many people have never heard of this great performer.
