OK,

So the plot thickens and I move onto my next purchase. Once again I need advice from you, the pro's!

A Zoom 96 LED 3x2m star cloth is £160.

A Prolight 100 LED 3x2m star cloth is £195.

Any ideas if there is any difference? If not, surely I should just take the cheaper one?

I believe they're both in a horrible crinkly nylon, If you realy want a starcloth save a bit more & buy a S&H one. (Im sure others will agree & dissagree with this)

Steve, a starcloth is on my future shopping list, just googled S&H and all I got was their homepage and tech support pages http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sad/sad0150.gif Any idea of the costs and sizes etc. or maybe a site for the info?http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sign/sign0092.gif

Ian (8Limelight) or Darren might know, other than that I think it's a case of caling S&H.

They are a fair bit more thn the Prolight & Zoom ones though

I think the starcloth booth that they do is around 600 quid....

Very nice, but expensive..

I think for now, wilst I'm testing the water, I have to stick with the zoom or prolight. To be honest, I think they are very simular in material, just that the prolight one comes with 4 extra LED's! Will stick to the zoom model...

Has anyone on this forum got a Zoom starcloth? If so, what is it like?

I use the prolight starcloth and when you pull the tapes all tight (valcro)
you get the cloth to site quite nice and flat.
You can get these cloths on e-bay through dealers but you have to just look for deals to come up, I got mine for £80 so it pays to wait sometimes.

Yes the S & H booth is the best you can buy, but I have been out with Brian Mole who uses one, and at times we cant use it do to space.

I agree go for the prolight than the zoom, but if your budget can afford a S&H

There seems to be a big gap in the market here. You can pay around £150 for a Prolight one or £700 for an S&H one.

Come on manufacturers, sort it out!

I ordered the Zoom one, 3x2 meters (with case, spare LED's etc) for £155 delivered.

Hi... I have had a Zoom star cloth for about 18 months, and while it essentially doeswhat it say on the tin, the quality of the cablings and connections is very poor. Indeed I have had to have mine replaced under warranty as well.

I have borrowed a prolight star cloth from a mate and would advise that I think that this a far better product and well worth the extra £60 becuase it will last you longer, and the carry case is far better. Also its supplied with a bar to fit to a DJ stand, which makes the appearance far smarter for your audience.

IN short if you can afford the prolight then get it, if you can't then the zoom will suffice but be careful with it and know that it won;t last as long.

Cheers

Had a prolight.

Now got NJDs.

Would buy NJDs again in a heartbeat.

Wouldn't touch another prolight with somebody else's bargepole. :o

Neither... have a look at the NJD ones! Far far nicer.

Depends which options you have with the S&H booth - Prices are generally anything from £600 - £1000+ (then plus delivery in most cases) depending on if you want pea light static or moving, LED static or moving...

A far better alternative is the Deckstand Booth (but then i would say that!) - Same quality build, better design but for less money... A forum special price to be released very shortly on them too ;)

Just need to get my working trip to scotland out the way this weekend and then i'm sure there will be lots of news next week ;) :D
