Chauvet Intimidator Spot Duo / Showtec XS 2. These look interesting.

Having perused the latest pro mobile mag the Chauvet Intimidator Spot Duo has a big advert as soon as you open the mag :D

Now although as most of you know I'm firmly in the minimalist camp I quite like the look of these to enhance the set up a bit. There's a few videos knocking around youtube and the UK price seems to be around the £499 mark. Has anyone got or seen these live yet?

I like them, especially the showtec one's, unfortunately they don't appear to be in stock anywhere at the moment

A guy from Chauvet was at the West of Scotland Amp DJ meet last week showing them off.

A lot of the lads were impressed and I must admit that I did like the look of them but the room was swimming in haze so it really showed off the beams. I'm not entirely convinced that in a place where smoke and haze isn't allowed it would look that great as to my eye, the gobos were pretty small and without the beams, to look at the fixtures themselves they're just 2 small moving heads.

Where it does stand on its own is the ease of set up to get quick results.

Pretty sure the guy said they won't be out until well into the latter part of the year.
