Are these freely available in this country yet and how much are they? There were some about but you needed to buy a big set for a lot of money when I last looked. If you're using one, how does it look?

Just had a thought. How about cutting down one of those lenses you stick on the rear screen of your car so you can see more when reverse parking. Know what I mean? If it gives you wider vision then it must splay out the beams wider.

Yes, they are available in the UK. Contact James at LVR: http://lvrlimited.com/laser-safety-products.php

I do believe that you can buy just the strength you need without having to buy the full set.

Unfortunately, the lenses used in the rear windscreens of cars are 'Fresnel' type lenses, these are no good whatsoever for this application

Hope this helps

Oh, sorry forgot to add...

They look excellent once set up correctly. Horizontal and vertical alignment is key, plus being able to tilt the lens slightly so that the top flat surface is parallel to the beam output.

Cheers for that. I'll only be wanting 1 lens but have no idea what the M2 measurement is.
Can that bracket be fixed to a Laserworld CS range laser do you know?
We could really do with a simple universal fixture without all the technical stuff. They are plug and play lasers most of us use and few Dj's have any real deep knowledge, or indeed measuring equipment! We just want something to do the job simply and safely..like everything else in life!

Hi Mark, I bought mine through http://www.synchrovision.co.uk/contact and spoke to Martin Pelikan about what I needed for mu OK Laser Rainbow Vision 450mw. I didn't query how he knew which to supply but he could obviously check the spes before making the decision.
To fit it I used a hard plastic lid of a jar (don't know what had been in it) after finding the semicircular lense would fit into it when cut to suit. I then fitted it after drilling small holes in the front of the laser and used self tapping screws and superglue. Not a professional job but it is safe and the lens will not fall out.

See if I can get a pic during the weekend.

Nice one Chris. Cheers! My lasers are likely to have different specs as they're 300mw and 400mw green colour only so will ask him. May need 2 lenses.
By the way, how does it look. If you haven't managed to angle the lens down slightly does it look odd at the split point as the scan comes down or is it ok?

I'd still recommend going through James at LVR as he is very well placed to give advice on which lenses you need. I know both Martin and James personally and both are good to deal with. However, James is one of the foremost laser safety experts in the UK and he'll give good advice and point you in the right direction.

Thanks will speak to them as well and see if they will sell lenses separately and compare prices. Off to Greece for a couple of weeks soon so will get into this when I get back. Cheers
