Have you thought of going for B2. I obviously don't know your situation but I had=ve a pair of L1's and had 4 B1's each side with a Packlite each side too. Sold them all and am so pleased with the B2's that are better than B1's.

Hope you find what you want.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if it is possible to combine a pair of B1's with a B2 on just one L1 Mod 2 system?

From reading some stuff it sounds as though 1 x B2 = 2 x B1's. I also am led to believe that the Tonematch will need an update to work correctly with the B2. I'm assuming this is done via download and USB.

Maybe i'd be better selling the pair of B1's I have and buyying a pair of B2's. It'd be two less boxes to carry ;)

Cheers

Jem

Hi Jem,

I have found each B2 to be equal to 4 x B1's. Because they have the larger 10" drivers they lsu more air which of course is what making noise is all about. They certainly go to lower frequencies too.

My L1's are not mod 2 but even so where you can use 2 x B1's which provide a 4 ohm load, each B1 is 8 ohms so when 2 are used in parallel you get 4 ohms, you cannot add a B2, as this is 4 ohms on it's own, unless you use a Packlite.

I compared a B2 against 4 of my B1's in PMT and there was a definite improvement. Andy Collins in Swindon had a pair before me and is also very pleased with them.

With my L1's I have the fitted tonematch set to 58 and there is a rocker switch on the B2's which should be in the middle position for best performance.

Brilliant information Chris. Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

It's looking like my B1's might be going up for sale ;)
