I am looking to buy a good set of headphones. Not for dj'ing, but for just really listening to music.
Ones that will let me hear all the detail in the music.

Please post any ideas for good headphones, preferably ones you own yourselves, or have listened to in person.

Thanks

Hi there. I've moved this from the Music Forum to the Equipment Discussion Forum for you.

I know these are the headphones that I use for DJ'ing, but I would thoroughly recommend them for casual use as well:

Sennheiser - HD25II

The warmth, breadth and clarity of the sound you get with these is incredible. I use these to listen to music during my day job and I'm constantly amazed at what you can hear in the recordings that just isn't there when you listen to the same track using cheaper headphones (my other pair are compact Denon inner ear headphones and even those don't hold a torch to the Senny's).

I thought there would be more replies to this topic.

Maybe as dj's we don't listen to that much music in our spare time?

My reason for asking about headphones is that I want to purchase a half decent pair for home use, and wanted some opinions on which to buy.

Can someone maybe recommend a shop where I can try several brands of headphones before I buy.

Thanks.
