thomann pro account?

I bought a couple of RCF subs from an acquantance who used to dj and is in a band and one has gone faulty. I believe it be
within the three years warranty period. He checked out the returns process and apparently his is regarded as a pro account
and his purchases only get a one year warranty. Anyone hear of this before and know the reasons why? I bought lots of gear
from him over the years at good prices so not going to make a fuss but it seems thomann are being a bit crap about this!

Are warranties transferrable anyway? I would have thought that only the original purchaser has the contract with the vendor for the purchase? As you have bought it second hand, I'm not sure how the original warranty can stand? :confused:
