One of my RCF 905s stopped working a couple of weeks ago and as I had no warranty I gave it to an RCF dealer here in Ireland who
gave me a great deal on my HD12s in late 2012. He rang me on wednesday to say it was fixed, he had put a new speaker cone in as
the other was destroyed. I don't know how this happened as I'm careful with my levels and keep an eye on the limit lights and bring
two subs for the larger gigs instead of just the single one. Anyway I collected it yesterday and he tells me he put a different cone in
and not an RCF one as he it was in stock and more powerful and he also was saving me money. The part and labour inc vat came to
€380 (£330). Here's the part (http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=BAC15PZB100). So my questions are i) is this technically ok to do this ii) would the proper cone be more expensive and
iii) will it still sound ok with my other 905 sub?
Appreciate any comments as usual!
