Maybe he's modified it and is using 6x D-cell batteries??? The "On" switch is in the "On" position so I suppose it's possible.

Mind you, the absence of any cabling/connecting wires does raise some issues, though! :doh:

He has a DJ2GO or similar in front of the mixer/or similar crappy controller.
Bet he is using that too hide the plastic fisher priced stuff.

There is another mixer to the right, but i assume that is for another DJ to patch into.

I can't imagine why anybody would pretend to be mixing along to a mix CD, unless they were truly terrible and trying to impress.
