Hi all,
can you please make any recommendations for a minimal DJ stand to place my Denon MC6000 (housed in swan case) and laptop on.
I have a Ultimax stand which for small or just karaoke nights is overkill and sometimes is hard to fit in small pub venues.
It needs to be light but stable and easy to set up without fuss.
I do not need any lighting bars as I have a couple will to the job for one light fitting either side.
Minimum is the game.
Many thanks.
Simple, just buy a pair of THESE (http://www.ultimax1.com/tripods/winch-tripods.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=114&category_id=40) 0.6M ultimax cross pieces and use your existing end pieces

Now that is an excellent idea!! I've never thought of looking for anything like that before so I've had my eyes opened here! :)

and a pair of covered shelves.... :)
a great idea thank you - any more?
You could cut 0.6M off your existing 4' shelves to use with the 'mini stand', it won't stop you combining them again for use with your 4' stand

Going for minimal you could consider a keyboard stand?

Yes thank you, I am considering using one of these (Single plynth only) behind my equinox screen and instead of taking four panels, only use three. (if you can do that - will have to check)

I also considered one of these but thought the legs seemed too wide :daft:

personally don't like that middle one ... not a massive fan of big flight cases and that looks like a couple of big flightcases!!

The 0.6 Ultimax cross pieces and 3 Equinox screens is a perfect small set-up, I've used it quite a few times for house parties. The good thing is it still has an impact because the screens are lit.
And if you're tempted by one of those Road Ready tables double check the hight - they do quite a few models that all look the same and some aren't high enough (if they've been reduced by a lot then that's a warning sign - I nearly made that mistake).

Here we go (knew I had a picture somewhere). Three screen equinox with 0.6 ultimax.

Looks very effective and I can see the need for this.
Not sure if there would be room for a wireless mouse and mousepad on the standard 2ft board as I just hate the elan touchpad on the laptop. I could make a top board so that is sticks out the back enough to have room for a mousemat etc..
For very small pub work I probably wouldn't bother with the equinox screen and just go for attaching a serge cloth straight onto the frame of the stand.
Plenty to think about - thank you for your suggestion.

found some and ordered - looks like it's going to be a two footer with an extended table top for a mousemat.
Thanks for all your help.

Sorry was meant to ask as to what light fixture are you using on the Screen?

I used a micro par-bar behind it, so 4 smallish flat led lights - the pattern is from the mirror ball above, not planned but it looked good.
