I was working in a golf club last weekend and decided as the room was rather small i would take my backup amp a Phonic Powerpod (mixer amp)
Ive owned this mixer for 3 years and used it around 8 times like i said its for backup only but i decided to use it for a full night anyway to clear any cobwebs
it lasted all night without any problems then the guests asked for One More Song, like they do so i played a request id not managed to fit in my set
halfway through this song the amp died
ive checked and fuses, both ok
if i switch it on it lights up for a nano second then all goes off
it is like new inside and out and i feel it owes me as ive hardly used it i cant find anyone in the Manchester area to take a look at it any ideas please
Cheers Wayne

Have a look through yellow pages for an audio repair specialist.

I fix my own amps but I am almost useless if I don't have the circuit diagrams which some companies wont give out.

Common problems are output transistors blowing. Just replacing them doesn't always fix the problem as often driver circuitry can blow with the output transistors.

I have fixed quite a few class d amps and it their case I just replace output transistors and class d chip and they work again.

I just fixed a 1980's Maplin 150w amp and all that was wrong was the driver transistor plastic insulating washer was worn and allowed the transistor to short out on the heatsink.

Sometimes its as simple as blown fuse.
